HEART is closed this week to allow us to process all the changes we need to make to continue to ensure HEART is ready and able to welcome you all during the winter months.
Some important works will take place during the week that we need to do before the winter and, when we reopen on 5th October, Assembly Bar + Kitchen at Headingley HEART will be geared up ready to have people back inside again.

We are open from 9am to 9pm from Monday to Saturday, serving fabulous food and drink. Take a look at the Assembly Bar + Kitchen page where you can access the menu.

HEART has received the ‘We’re good to go’ industry standard. Acquiring the Industry Standard mark means that HEART has followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, has a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. Please view our latest Risk Assessment below. We have also got our unique QR code in place in readiness for the 24th September when the NHS Test and Trace p is launched.

Support HEART

Even with our cafe service in our outdoor spaces, and limited room bookings allowed, we are still only making a small part of our usual income. We don’t take external funding and so need to continue generating our own income so we can continue to pay our bills, retain our staff, and ensure we have our building properly equipped and maintained, ready to serve our community. Every penny helps us during this difficult time.

We have been so overwhelmed by the generosity of HEART supporters over this time and hope you can still continue to offer that support; both by coming along for a coffee, sandwich or popping along on our Market Night but also by continuing to donate to our Crowdfunder. As ever, Whether it’s £1 or £100, it all makes a difference to HEART and we promise to value every donation and ensure we use it to help HEART survive and thrive.

Latest Update

This week we are losing an incredible woman from our Heart Family. Anne has been a part of Heart since 2016 working as our Customer Administration Manager and all-round event guru! To celebrate the wonderful impact Anne has had on the staff, volunteers and customers of Heart we wanted to share our memories and best wishes for the adventure that lies ahead for Anne. Mike: – Anne has been an integral part of HEART’s success over the past few years. She was, briefly, a volunteer before turning out to be the best Customer Administration Manager anyone could wish for! Her professionalism, friendship and occasional use of the ‘English’ language has endeared her to all who have worked with her; staff, volunteers or users of HEART. All of us at HEART are grateful for the work she has done and for the relationships she has built with us. We’ll all be having holidays in Canada to enable those relationships to continue! It’s not always been easy for her at HEART: occasionally she’s had to go three or four weeks without a holiday! But, despite that, she has been unwavering in her commitment to, and her love of HEART and that has shone through in everything she’s done here. I know our customers will miss her but, on the bright side, will at least now be quoted room hire prices in pounds rather than dollars. Thanks Anne for everything, for all the work, arranging all the parties and events but, mainly, just for being you! Fay: – Anne is an absolute joy. A funny and sassy human, whom I have learnt a lot from. I love her life philosophy and will keep all her lessons close to my heart and head! You will be so missed. But I wish you the deepest happiness. Bon voyage my Friend. Love Fay Leann: – Easily the most organised member of the office team and usually the only tidy desk space to be seen. Pulls together all the details for big events and parties with a flair that makes it look really simple. We all know it isn’t! We’ll be running around like headless chickens without Anne’s lead. Clara: – Dearest Anne, it was a real privilege to work with you at HEART. I wish you good times, good health, and new friends beside you in Canada and I really hope we will meet again somewhere in the future. Un forte abbraccio! Clara Rosie: – Anne interviewed me for a voluntary position on reception at Heart. Immediately I liked her vibrancy and creative vision for HEART. I was excited to be accepted as part of the team and have been here for just over a year. Anne seems to take everything in her stride, from helping and advising our many visitors to crawling under the reception desk or the sink in the kitchen to “fix the problem”. I’ll miss you Anne and wish you and your family much happiness for what comes next. Thank you for all of your hard work and for making Heart a lovely place to be! You will be truly missed! All the best in the States!
