OWLS supports local older people to stay healthy, independent and to reduce loneliness and social isolation. Our team of staff and volunteers supports OWLS members to take part in a large range of activities including trips out, a supported shopping service, lunch clubs, gentle exercise and Bollywood movies. We also run a befriending service for people who are very isolated. We’re delighted to be based in the Heart of the community.
OWLS membership is free, and open to anyone aged 55+ and living in Burley, Hyde Park, Little Woodhouse, Headingley and parts of Kirkstall. OWLS is managed by Bramley Elderly Action (BEA), a registered charity. OWLS and BEA are two of the 35 Neighbourhood Network Schemes which support older people throughout Leeds.
