London based saxophonist and composer Matt Anderson presents a new quartet featuring four exciting young musicians - their music puts an emphasis on original writing, and with arrangements that take inspiration from sources as wide-ranging as Wayne Shorter, folk music of the British Isles, the European jazz scene and groove/rock music. The Trio comprises three longstanding musicians from the Leeds jazz scene, and showcases new melody-driven compositions taking their influence from artists as diverse as Abdullah Ibrahim, John Taylor, Tord Gustavsen and Herbie Hancock. Along with their own unique renditions of well known songbook repertoire and covers of more obscure musical gems, to produce a varied and unique programme of music.

The Alasdair Pennington Trio - Alasdair is a young, freelance drummer based in the north of England, specialising in jazz and is joined by Sam Quintana on double bass and Nico Widdowson on piano, the trio will be performing Alasdair’s own compositions and arrangements.
