I have been a very proud member of the Heart family since September 2019. Some of you may know me from Assembly Bar and Kitchen, where I worked alongside the amazing Café staff serving you food and coffee, and others may know me as the crazy Christmas lady that loves decorating Christmas trees and sings Christmas songs in early November.
As times have changed in the last few months so too has my job role here at Heart and I have begun working in my new role as social media and communications manager since the lovely Casey took up a new job in March this year. I hoped to introduce the face behind the posts sooner but I have been in the process of finishing my final exams for my degree.
Despite starting my role the day we entered lockdown I have enjoyed every minute of it. I love having the opportunity to read the amazing stories that our wonderful followers are sharing with us and experience new ways of connecting with the Headingley community. It has been amazing to see how, despite the odds, all of our followers are connecting with one another over our online activities such as Yoga and The Lockdown Film Club and bringing positivity and laughter to each other during these uncertain times.
Being a part of the Heart community has reminded me that silver linings can be found in every situation. The generosity we have received in the past few weeks has been amazing and being able to connect with the heart staff over zoom, share our stories and fears and keeping one another smiling has been a blessing. Places like Heart remind us of the importance of community in our lives and the value of support and togetherness.
I would like to finish by saying a big thank you to you all for interacting with our posts and for sharing your stories and pictures with us as without you there would be no Heart. I hope you’re all staying safe and well and I look forward to seeing you when we reopen for our takeaway service in June
