Hazjak were formed in 2018 bringing together Steve Chapman Smith a respected singer songwriter and performer who has released three solo albums over the last 6 years and Lynne O’Malley one third of the highly acclaimed a capella trio Yan Tan Tether and frequent singer with Henry Priestman.
Their close harmonies work beautifully together and both take lead vocals.
Between them they play guitar, bouzouki, banjo, percussion and piano.
Their debut EP “Car Park Kisses” was released late 2018 and has enjoyed great reviews and many radio plays.
Reviews always mention the eclectic diverse styles that Hazjak utilise.
Hard to find a box to put them in seems to be the conclusion.
Expect to hear folk, country, Americana, roots, blues and rock in no particular order.
Songs played with passion and integrity.
Original songs and carefully picked covers.
“Close-harmony folk meets Goth rock blues. Like poles repel, but unlike poles attract. From poles apart this duo have brought together guitar and keyboard to create irresistible and original songs with a magnetic field that will pull in the masses. I feel this is the start of something very big and attractive.”
