Tuesday Night Live – supporting local talent.

Carfrae are a three-piece folk/Americana/acoustic band from Otley/Wetherby/Wakefield and have been playing together now for around 3 years:

Caroline Carfrae – vocals and occasional (!) tin whistle

Neil Garratt – guitar and mandolin

Rich Thompson – accordion

They play a wide range of folk music from traditional songs through to covers of contemporary performers such as Sarah Jarosz, Nancy Kerr, and Kate Rusby.

They have played at various venues including a slot at the Otley Folk Festival (September 2017), the Arthington Show, the Otley Show, The Alford Show, The Red Shed (supporting Brian Willoughby and Cathryn Craig), Korks and the Otley Folk Club, Morley Folk Club, the Black Swan Folk Club, The Grove Inn, The Manor in Otley, Halsway Manor (the National Centre for Folk Music and Traditions), and the SMS sessions in Collingham.  Rich has also recently established a successful, regular folk night, ‘King’s Folk’ in Heath, Wakefield.  Neil is also in a successful Americana group,’ Lost Loui, who are well known in the region’s music scene (they recently played at the Heart Centre!).  Caroline is a classically trained singer who has sung in many operas and concerts, and was previously signed to a music label in Paris – she also sings in a classical duo, ‘Incantare’.

Suggested donations of £3-£5, but no one turned away for lack of funds.
