Jon is a singer/songwriter originally from Lancashire but now very much an honorary Yorkshireman living in the bustling market town of Otley. Jon is a relative latecomer to the wonderful world of folk and acoustic music having spent many years cast adrift in the dark and seedy underbelly of rock. Jon changed musical direction in 2010 after happening upon a youtube video of Richard Thompson playing his beautiful and evocative Beeswing. There has been no looking back ever since.
Jon has now built up a sizeable repertoire which includes original and traditional songs, instrumentals and covers of music by the likes of John Renbourn, Nic Jones and Richard Thompson. The electric guitars, Marshall amps and spandex leggings are all now forlorn ,neglected and gathering dust in a darkened corner of a dark and forgotten room.
Apart from being a fine musician, Jon has been a teacher and now is a pilot based at Leeds/Bradford – an interesting change of job!
Jon has just released his first full length solo album, We All Share The Same Sky. It features nine self-penned tracks and one traditional. It has already received significant airplay and several excellent reviews.
Jon is a fine fingerpicking guitarist and this is a record that promises much for the future.-Folking.com.
