At 15 the Rolling Stones first album kicked open the door to a whole new world of Rhythm and Blues. “I suddenly knew that all these wonderful characters, Muddy, The Wolf, Sonny boy, Robert Johnson, were singing about the truth and reality. It was a kind of spiritual awakening and I was hooked.”
CJ Smith has been writing, performing and recording great blues-inspired music for nearly 40 years. The CJ Smith Band released their highly acclaimed album ‘Going West’ in 2019, and their follow up cd ‘Coming Home Again’ is due for release this year. His songs, tender, gritty and warm demand comparison with Van Morrison, John Martyn and James Taylor.
