SOUNDBITES – Monthly Poetry Open Mic Event on Zoom
We present a published guest poet each month and this month it’ll be International Women’s Day and our guest poet will be Hannah Stone…and more
HANNAH STONE is well known to Soundbites, having read frequently in both its face to face and zoom events. She is the author of four poetry volumes and the book based on her year as poet-theologian for the Leeds Church Institute Reflections of a poet-theologian in lockdown Leeds, was launched last week in Leeds Lit Fest. It was at Soundbites that she suggested to Pamela Scobie that they collaborate together; the second of their collaborative endeavours became the popular Fit To Bust : an unwrapping of female desire and attire(copies of which are available via email from Hannah or Pamela- find us on Facebook!) She previously collaborated with historian and poet Rosemary Mitchell to give voice to another set of female voices in Holding up Half The Sky (2019). Recently she has edited three volumes of poetry based on women and engineering, and today’s guest slot sees Hannah introducing these volumes and sharing some of their contents with you.
