Fictions of Every Kind, the dedicated night for prose writers, are very pleased to be welcoming legendary short story writer David Constantine as invited speaker at their May event.

Born in Salford, David Constantine has published several volumes of poetry and two novels, and four short story collections including Tea At the Midland, which won the Frank O’Connor Short Story Award. His most recent collection is The Dressing-up Box, published by Comma Press. He is also translator of Hölderlin, Brecht, and Goethe, among others, and he lives in Oxford.

Bring your short stories to our open mic. The theme this month is “Secrets”. Please keep your contributions at 5 minutes or under and email northernshortstoryfestival@gmail.com if you would like to book a slot.

The event will also feature our wonderful House Band, who will be creating and uploading videos for us all to enjoy.

This event will take place on Zoom. Please click “attending” to this events page so that we can send you the event link and password closer to the time.
