Much of Dave’s prints reflect industrial life. It is greatly influenced from his underground memories and experiences in the coalmines. He also has a strong theme of industrial landscape, which originates from the busy hard working town of Castleford where he is from. His work and techniques are always developing. He etches into materials such as tin plate, plastic and card to give the opportunity to explore and experiment with inks enabling individual prints. Equally, he makes lino cut prints. Carving the lino is tactile and sculptural, be it making a single cut or a series of reduction cuts they all give an excitement of revealing a unique print.
