Head Chef

Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre are looking for an enthusiastic and person to join our team as Head Chef. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef wanting to take the next step in their career, to continue and build on the success of Assembly Bar + Kitchen. This is a full time, permanent position. Salary from £18,500 per annum.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen, through managing the staff working there and ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene and Health and Safety. You will prepare menus and produce high quality, well presented food, whilst carefully controlling costs, at all times providing the best eating experience for our customers.

As part of the HEART staff team, you will be expected to develop a proactive and professional approach to ensure the smooth running and further development of HEART. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial flair who will work with the Centre Manager to develop both the business potential and vision of Assembly Bar + Kitchen and implement improvements.

We are seeking someone with a keen interest in food who is self-motivated, proactive and flexible with the ability to use their initiative and take responsibility. We need a team player who will thrive on the variety and hustle and bustle of a community building while providing an excellent service to our customers.

A strong supportive and encouraging environment is in place to ensure success.

Kitchen Assistant

HEART are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join the Assembly Bar + Kitchen team as a Kitchen Assistant. As a member of the catering team you will contribute to the provision of quality food and service to meet HEART standards in line with agreed procedures so that the reputation of HEART’s catering function is enhanced.

The role is for 12 hours a week – normally evenings, including Saturday – although the successful candidate must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours to cover for holidays and absence. Occasionally we have events which mean we open later and the successful applicant will need to be flexible to this and the general needs of the business.

We are seeking someone who has an eye for detail, is willing to take instruction and who, preferably, has a background in catering or food preparation and cooking. We need a team player who takes pride in their work and who will thrive on the variety and hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen while maintaining a professional approach.  This role does involve physical work as well as being able to work alone.

Part-Time Cafe Staff

If you can provide great customer service, enjoy a fast-paced role and like hard work we’d love to speak to you.

A variety of hours are available to suit, including lunchtimes, evenings and Saturdays.

If you are able to offer a long term commitment and are flexible, please get in touch.

If you are able to help out occasionally and at short notice – but without being contracted to certain hours each week – this might still be something that we could accommodate.
